The nail care and color category of professional beauty has grown hand over fist—or foot. Manicures and pedicures are considered maintenance, not luxury, services. That said, clients have spaced out appointments to save money during economic woes so wooing them back to a more frequent schedule means knowing how to entice them with must-have colors, product systems and know-how. We talked to nail industry trailblazers and leaders and asked them to share some nail inspiration for salon pros to pass on to their clients or to put a spring into their own manicures.

What is the well-manicured bride going to be wearing on her nails this spring and summer for a traditional look and for a more fashion-forward look?

“For the traditionalist, we’re seeing a lot of feminine, romantic looks with a strong French influence in nail designs. Traditional French Manicures never really go out of style, but this season we’re seeing something with a lot more detail than just a typical pink and white.  For example, a traditional French Manicure with a white lace tip, or a lace design in the accent nail.  We highly recommend Venique Wingtip White, for an ultra-bright and richly pigmented white, along with Going Barefoot for a pink with a hint of sparkle, or Galoshing in the Rain for a creamy pink.

“For the more fashion forward bride, we still see that French influence but it takes the form of a bolder French Manicure, with beds of blue with black lace accents. Venique’s Dominating Thigh Highs is the absolute best black on the market, with rich pigmentation for a flawless finish.  Paired with Venique’s Gel-Like Top & Base, brides can have that plump gel look without the agony of removal.

“Another big trend for anyone walking down the aisle is statement pieces, like a big bold nail charm on an accent nail.”
