For educators trying to brainstorm ways to keep students engaged and involved in classes, I.d Salon Owner Lori Panarello recommends getting the pupils involved in the decision-making process and outcome of cut, color and style.

"Our model has a beautiful, square face shape and green eyes," Panarello says. "I knew a round haircut shape and a bold, killer red would look amazing on her. I then let the audience decide whether or not to leave the longer, soft pieces. I think they chose well!"

Panarello shares tips from her method used at BSG Baltimore Fashion Focus.

Get the Look: Fierce Red Pixie

COLOR: Goldwell Topchic equal parts 7KR and 6KG with 20 volume
Process 40 minutes, rinse and shampoo. Use Clear Elumen glaze for shine; process 15 minutes, then rinse.

CUT: Longer pieces were created with a razor to add movement.

And don't forget to share dramatic makeovers like this one on your social media platforms--especially Instagram! Many stylists underestimate how much their social profiles can impact potential clientele.

"This is a very impactful makeover that can be used to showcase skill, so post makeovers like this on Instagram, share on Facebook and add to your Pinterest makeover board," says Patrick McIvor, artistic and techniculture director for Goldwell and KMS California and techni-color director for Arrojo.
