Protecting the environment is an important part of KEVIN.MURPHY's brand identity, from packaging and product to salon education and global initiatives.

All KEVIN.MURPHY product packaging is recyclable or biodegradable. The brand uses natural ingredients harvested from sustainable and renewable sources,  utilizing methods that don't harm the environment whenever possible. Sulfate-free, KEVIN.MURPHY relies upon natural surfactants from the Soap Bark Tree Quillaja and other plant-derived sources. Additionally, KEVIN.MURPHY is recognized by PETA as cruelty-free!

At the salon level, KEVIN.MURPHY offers GREEN.SALON Project, a virtual salon that demonstrates initiatives that salons and individuals can undertake to reduce their carbon footprint and the impact on the environment while saving money. Salon owners and employees can virtually build their salon from the ground up to learn more about small changes with a big impact.

Globally, KEVIN.MURPHY partners with Al Gore’s climate change leadership program, The Climate Reality Project. A non-profit global organization, The Climate Reality Project is dedicated to educating the public about the science and impact of climate change and to work towards solutions at a grassroots level worldwide. Brand founder Kevin Murphy is a Climate Reality Project Presenter and regularly communicates climate control messages to a broad network of hairdressers, stylists, and consumers.
