L’Oréal Color How-To: Icy Blonde

Elizabeth Jakaitis | May 11, 2015 | 1:01 PM

Jason Backe, L’Oréal Professionnel artist and co-owner of Ted Gibson salons, assures that for summer, cool tones are where it’s at for blondes.

“If you are a blonde right now, it’s super hot to be super cool!” Backe says. “It’s all about icy tones and a velvet finish. I am obsessed with the new Majirel High Lift—the new violet colorant delivers a coolness I have never seen from a high-lift color before.”

FORMULA AND APPLICATION

Natural level 8

Formula 1: 30 g Majirel High Lift Ash with 60 g 30-volume developer

Formula 2: 50 g Majirel High Lift Ash with 100 g 40-volume developer

Steps: For an alternative virgin application, work in sections, applying Formula 1 to the new growth area first, then immediately applying Formula 2 to the midshaft and ends. Process for approximately 50 minutes.
