Sola Salon Studios has changed the lives of thousands of salon professionals in the last 11 years. This summer, Sola is celebrating its community of more than 5,000 hairstylists and beauty professionals who are part of their family. Salon professionals come to Sola Salon Studios from every walk of life. Some are industry veterans, others have recently finished school, but they’re all looking for the same thing: To take the leap to independence by starting their own business.

Sola Gives You Control

It’s no secret that being in a salon studio gives stylists control of their schedule, profits and environment. But what ownership really does is allow stylists to take control of their own lives. “I really wanted the freedom that Sola offers,” said Jessica Zeinstra, owner of Jessica Zeinstra Studio in Minneapolis, Minn. “The freedom to select the best product line for my clients, the freedom to make my own schedule, and the freedom to really connect with my clients on a more personal and friendship-based level.”

Sola is Empowering

These owners are empowered by the choices they make, and being a part of a family 5,000 strong only inspires them further. For many stylists, the transition took a lot of courage and a lot of work, but was absolutely worth it in the end. “I believe it takes a strong individual to make the move, and I am proud to say I am one of those 5,000, alongside of my two business partners,” said Cora Rose, co-owner of Three Little Birds in Phoenix, Ariz.

Sola Gives You Freedom

Sola Salon Studios has given stylists the ability to be a small business owner without many of the traditional risks of ownership. The studio model allows stylists to be owners with out a lot of the overhead, like building a salon from scratch, hiring a full staff, dealing with finding a location or purchasing a huge amount of equipment and product.

The Sola Salon Studios concept allows salon professionals to make the most out of owning their space. Carl Slack, owner of Hair by Carl in Jacksonville, Fla., said that he has increased revenue by being able to cater to his clients and that, in turn, has increased his referrals. “The freedom creates endless possibilities to grow,” he said. “It’s totally up to you.”

Sola Gives You the Best of Both Worlds

Salon Professionals get the best of both worlds at Sola. They get their own space for their business, without having to deal with things such as build-out, utilities and overhead costs. And that space just so happens to be located next to like-minded professionals. Many owners cite being able to work around like-minded individuals as one of the best benefits of Sola Salon Studios.

“I am so proud and honored to be part of such an amazing group of professionals,” said Lisa McCully, owner of A List Hair Design in Ann Arbor, Mich. “Sola is filled with all the passionate professionals that bring their ‘A-game’ every day with every guest and in everything they do. I feel I have found home.”
