Boys & their Toys

Will the real Great Gatsby please stand up? The design team from Michael’s Salon & Day Spa in Centerville, Ohio, used a time-honored motif—men and cars—for its recent men’s photoshoot.

Styles are retro but with modern touches; although some models looked like they took a time machine from the roaring ’20s to 2015, others resemble grandchildren or great-grandchildren of the prohibition-era men with additions of more current facial hair and styling.

The shoot, which took place at the Packard Motor Company Museum in Dayton, Ohio, might not have used actual human models from days of yore, but the cars were the real deal.

“This photoshoot consisted of several cars, including Al Capone’s last car purchased and a racecar driven by Amelia Earhart,” says Michael Schuh, owner of Michael’s Salon & Day Spa and photographer for the shoot.
