Helping The Serial Scalp Bleacher

Maggie Mulhern | June 26, 2015 | 7:29 AM

Jessica Zappia (@jessicazappiahair) of Studio250, Wetherill Park, Sydney, Australia, wanted to help her client who has "been a serial scalp bleacher for many years. Her hairline couldn't cope anymore." Zappia knew she could help. "My goal was to counteract the warmth. I wanted to achieve a natural tone without the risk of the colour being overtoned."

For this correction, Zappia pulled out the Keune Tinta 3000 series, which she calls "The star of the show! It took her from a natural level 4 to a clean level 10 in 60 minutes while maintaining the integrity of the hair. With the ability to lift and tone at once it is a dream product. However I still prefer to tone to seal the cuticle. It is a high lift tint so we can kiss scalp bleach goodbye!"

Here she shares the HOW TO:

STEP 1: Mix 30ml Keune 3000 with 60mls 30vol (9%). Apply to regrowth and process for 45 minutes.

STEP 2: Comb through to mid length bands for and additional 10 minutes. In total the tint was on for 55 minutes. Rinse.

STEP 3: Tone using Keune semi10.2 20mls semi8.17 5mls and tint9.2 20mls mixed with 45mls 10vol (3%). Apply to the regrowth area for 5 minutes then put through to the ends for another 5 minutes. Rinse and shampoo with Keune Silver Reflex shampoo and condition with Keune Colour Brilliance.
