Chase shares that her client had been getting traditional foil highlights in the past and "had blotches of color bands all through her hair. I knew this wasn't going to be a single step correction," she says.
SESSION 1
formulas:
A) Base color L'Oreal Professionnel Majirel 1/2 6N 1/2 5N with 20 volume
B) Lowlight (to blend bands of color) L'Oreal Professionnel Dia Richesse 6.3 with 9 volume
C) L'Oreal Professionnel Infinie Platine lightener with 30 volume
D) Gloss 9.02/9.01L'Oreal Professionnel Dia Light 9 volume
Step 1: To cover grey and enrich the base, apply formula A.
Step 2: While processing, section the hair into 3 sections (ear to ear and center part). Starting at the nape, take 1 inch thick diagonal back sections (making a V shape). Apply in a balayage technique, either formula B or C to cover the banding. Continue this in the back section, working into the front sections. "Use your professional option and creative eye to create your placement."
Step 3: Once application finished, rinse the back section and allow the front to process for 30 additional minutes.
Step 4: Towel dry the hair and gloss with formula D for 10 minutes. Shampoo and condition.
SESSION 2
"Since the bands were blended with the lowlight in Session 1, just use the base color and lightener to go blonder and blend the remaining bands."
A) Base color: L'Oreal Professionnel Majirel 3/4 6N 1/4 5N with 20 volume
B) L'Oreal Professionnel Infinie Platine lightener with 30 volume
C) Gloss Roots: 8.1 L'Oreal Professionel Dia Light 9 volume
D) Gloss mids/ends : L'Oreal Professionnel Dia Light 9.01/9.12 9 volume
Step 1: Apply formula A to cover grey and enrich the base.
Step 2: While processing, section the hair into 3 sections (ear to ear and center part ). Starting at the nape, take 1 inch thick diagonal back sections (making a V shape). Using the balayage method, paint each section with the lightener (formula B). Work from the back to the front. "Use your professional option and creative eye to create your placement."
Step 3: Once totally applied, rinse the back section out the allow the front to process for an additional 30 minutes. Rinse and towel dry.
Step 4: Gloss with formula C on the root area (from scalp to 2 inches out) and formula D on mids to ends. Shampoo and condition.
