Sebastian Professional Entries Open for the 2016 What's Next Awards

Elizabeth Jakaitis | August 3, 2015 | 8:25 AM

Sebastian Professional kicks off the new season of the What’s Next Awards, challenging Student and Professional talent to create fearless looks based on Sebastian’s Metamorphik collection.

Entries are open from August 1 to November 30, with the live competition finale happening February 2016 in Miami, FL. Prizes in each category, Student, Professional and this year’s new category, Affiliated Artist, include a $1,000 cash prize, a photoshoot with a top trade magazine and either a stylist starter kit, experience styling at fashion week or a mentorship with a top Sebastian artist.

Each year Sebastian Professional releases a hair collection to inspire contestant’s hair style entries. This year the collection is Metamorphik. Inspired by nature at its most creative, it represents unexpected extremes, consisting of two powerful but opposing raw elements, volcanic ash and carnauba wax.

Helping to unlock the possibilities of artists’ entries are the Sebastian Professional new Metamorphik products, Resintek and Eruptek launching in January 2016. Everyone that enters the What’s Next Award will receive a sample of both products before the launch date, to help create looks with energy and transformative potential.
