Velvety Richness with Formula

Anne Moratto | August 13, 2015 | 10:20 AM

"Ninety eight percent of my clientele are colour clients," says featured artist Christa Bennett (@christathecolourista). "This is where my heart is. My longtime client loves to change her hair colour and is always a blast. She is a teacher and is also very active in theatre."

We loved the velvety richness and wine accents in this brunette color.  Get Bennett's how-to:

Natural Level : 6

Formula 1:  Schwarzkopf 3/4 4-90 1/4 4-99 10 vol or 6%

Formula 2 : Schwarzkopf Pearlessence P6-89 10 vol 6%

Formula 1 was applied to her regrowth and feathered down into her midshaft.

Formula 2 was applied smudging into formula 1, then through to the ends of her hair.

NOTE: The ends of her hair were faded from a previous dark violet colour. We decided to deepen the base and keep her midshaft through to the ends on level, but still rich.

And the result?  "Simple, modern, yet still classic. I love the depth and the pigment the new Pearlessence gives."

Christa Bennett owns her salon in Windsor, Ontario, called The Hair Lounge (@thehairloungelove) .

"Talent and atmosphere is very important to me. This is why the seven stylist and two assistants who I am surrounded with all share the same passion for constant further education, respect for professiolism in our industry, to work openly and creatively bouncing off each other, supporting each other in amazing work and encouraging each other."

From Foiled and Damaged To Luscious Red

Maggie Mulhern | October 1, 2017

"This client had been doing full foils for years, and her hair showed it," says Tiffinie Morton (@hairbytiffinie). "We had been working on getting her hair healthier and decided to try something new. She initially wanted to go to a warm level 5 but I talked her into trying this to ease her into being darker since she had been blonde for so long." Details here.
