Artemis Koullias (@hairby_sia) of the New Dawn Salon and Day Spa, Hubbard, Ohio, had a chance to transform her boss.  "Jody has been asking me to do her hair for about a month now but with her schedule and my schedule nothing really was working out." When the artists finally had a break, they went for it. "She had about 6 months of grown out roots, and her blonde looked dry, brassy, and just dull." But Koullias loved Jody's natural color and decided to keep it to make it a natrual looking grown out root "and it would be less upkeep for her and her crazy, crazy schedule. I wanted to brighten up her blonde and make it all pop more." According to Koullias, the how to is quite simple. Here she shares:

Formulas:

A - Redken Flash Lift with 20 volume (Olaplex added)

B - Wella Color Touch 10/81 (lightest blonde/pearl ash) ratio: 1:2

C - Gloss: Wella Color Touch Relights /00,  with 1.9 emulsion ratio: 1:2

STEP 1:  Section off 4 parts, started with the back. Using Formual A, hand paint on smaller horizontal sections, feathering toward the root to break the base and give it that natural look. Cover each section with plastic wrap. Blend up the back.

STEP 2: At the sides sections are a bit thicker and switch to diagonal partings. Feather from off root to break the base, leaving the pre lightened ends out.

STEP 3: Cover with wrap and process for 35-40 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with Sebastian Drench.

STEP 4: Apply Formula B as a toner and process for 5-7 minutes. Rinse again and apply Olaplex no. 2.

STEP 5: Apply Formula C at bowl and process for 10 minutes. Rinse.
