Shannon Rha (shannonhairsalon) of Shannon Hair Salon, Valencia, CA, is constantly honing her talents with advanced education. "I went to Vidal Sassoon and I continue my education constantly through Arrojo, Dessange, Nine Zero One, Toni & Guy, Di Petro Todd, Wella, Vidal Sassoon, and independent hairstylists, as well." Her drive shows in her exciting finishes and transformations. This one, which we found on Instagram, really caught our eye.

Background information on this new client: The clients darker hair color at the top was completely virgin hair. The bottom orange tone of the hair was bleached from her last hair stylist from over a year ago. Over time it developed into what must be fixed as a color correction. Here Rha shares the HOW TO on this correction that took 3.5 hours:

STEP 1: Apply color using a balayage foil technique on the back of the head using Wella Blondor + Olaplex with 30 volume for the darker virgin hair color.

STEP 2: On the back, continue with balayage using Blondor + Olaplex with 20 volume to address the demarcation line on the lower part to blend the old color.

STEP 3: On the front part of the head apply Blondor + Olaplex with 30 volume and then closer to the front bump up to  40 volume.

STEP 4: Process for 40 minutes. Shampoo. Towel Dry. While at the bowl, apply Wella Illumina  9/ (1:3) & 7/81 (2:3) with pastel developer throughout the hair. ("She didn't want to change her natural base color too drastically, by using the pastel developer it helped to create a more subtle change.") Process for 10 minutes at the bowl. Shampoo.

STEP 5: Tone with Redken Shades EQ 8n + 7nb. Process for 3-5 minutes.
