Formula How-To: Sunset in Paradise by GKhair

Victoria Wurdinger | October 28, 2015 | 1:29 PM

This pastel color was inspired by a combination of the earth’s elements: active volcanoes with blue lava in the eastern part of Indonesia, and mushrooms from the island of Santa Cruz.

FORMULAS & APPLICATION:

Natural level 9

Formula 1: Equal parts GKhair Lightening Powder with GKhair 10-volume Crème Developer.

Formula 2: GKhair Juvexin Cream Color, .98 oz. 912 Silver Superlightener + .03 oz Red Mixtone, + .03 oz Yellow Mixtone with 1.58 oz GKhair 30-volume Crème Developer

Formula 3: .98 oz 901S Ultra Ash Superlightener + .03 oz Blue Mixtone with 1.58 oz GKhair 30-volume Crème Developer

1. Using Formula 1, pre-lighten the hair for 10 minutes, then shampoo and rinse.

2. Apply Formula 2 to the front right and left sides. Skip the outer layer of the crown and freehand paint every second band. Process 20 minutes, then rinse.

3. Apply Formula 3 to the regrowth. Wait 10 minutes, then extend the color down the length of the natural hair. Use elevation to form slight flares, then process for an additional 10 minutes before rinsing.
