StyleSeat, a leading mobile and online destination for booking beauty and wellness appointments, announced that it will acquire NYC-based BeautyBooked - a discovery and booking platform for high end salons and spas. The acquisition of BeautyBooked, which has more than 1,000 marquee salons on its platform, enables StyleSeat to expand into the $21 billion salon and spa segment.

This deal will bring StyleSeat significant salon market share in top metro markets including New York City and Los Angeles and will provide access to prestigious partnerships, including an exclusive booking collaboration with Conde Nast’s Allure Magazine.

“We are excited to join forces with StyleSeat,” Hillary Hutcheson, CEO and Co-founder of BeautyBooked, says. “Our salon partners will benefit greatly from StyleSeat's vast customer base, innovative technology and partnership with L'Oreal.  We think StyleSeat is the perfect partner for BeautyBooked.”

This announcement comes at the end of another successful year for the StyleSeat brand, marked by 100% year over year growth and more than 23 million appointments booked. Relying on almost 100% word of mouth since its 2011 launch, the platform has already fueled over $2 billion in booked services and serviced more than 44 million appointments to date.

“StyleSeat is growing rapidly,” Melody McCloskey, CEO and Co-founder of StyleSeat, says. “While we specialize in independent professionals we're excited to expand to also support salons and spas, a step forward in our mission to power a discovery and booking experience for everyone. The acquisition of BeautyBooked was a natural progression for us to deliver on our vision of becoming the OpenTable for the entire beauty industry.”
