With both festival and wedding seasons fast approaching, it's time to ramp up your braiding skills. The versatility of braids have made them a mainstay in upstyling, and we don't see that changing any time soon.

Pravana Guest Artist Lara C. Kay created an edgy, side Dutch braid with tie-dye color from Danny Moon, Pravana guest artist and celebrity stylist. The placement of the color makes for a peekaboo effect in the braid and results in both the color and the style being amplified.

If you're looking for similar bold-color styles to braid, take a look at this watercolor technique and this color inspired by mood rings. As for the braid, all the steps and video are below!

STEP 1: Starting on the side, spray hair with Pravana Nevo Super Shape hair spray to smooth.

STEP 2: Twist hair up and pin at the crown.

STEP 4: Work braid from one side of fringe down to the other side at the nape.

STEP 5: Pull hair into the braid from both sides.

STEP 6: Secure ends.

STEP 7: Loosen braid starting from the bottom and working up.

STEP 8: Using a pintail comb, loosen strands around the perimeter.
Pro tip: Smooth baby hairs with Pravana Nevo Super Shape.
