On February 5, 2016, Farouk Systems, Inc. and their employees celebrated National Wear Red Day in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for a Day movement. National Wear Red Day helps to bring attention to the risk factors that impact women’s health and encourages taking action to live longer, healthier lives.

To mark this important day, all Farouk employees showed support by wearing red as well as reaching out to salons and fellow artists within the beauty industry, encouraging them to do the same.

“We are a company concerned for the safety and welfare of beauty professionals and their clients, Farouk Systems works hard throughout the year to maintain healthy standards not only through our product development but with other issues that might touch the health and safety of our industry," says Basim Shami, CEO of Farouk Systems. "An estimated 43 million women in the U.S. are affected with statistics showing 1-in-3 women dying from heart disease and stroke.  As these numbers continue to rise, this has become an important issue and a concern to everyone in the company.”

On February 6, 2016, Farouk Systems will continue their awareness efforts with their endorsement of the Pink Women’s Health Symposium.  This event was hosted by the Houston Metropolitan Area Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  Farouk Systems served as a sponsor by donating products and door prizes for their Women Heart’s Red Bag of Courage. The symposium provides women with accurate information on various aspects of heart disease so they can make heart healthy decisions about diet, exercise, medical treatment and mental health.
