Hair Goals: Oscars 2016 Best Beauty Looks

Anne Moratto | March 1, 2016 | 12:51 PM

We spotted this blog post from Paul Mitchell Editorial Director Lucie Doughty on her favorite beauty looks from the 88th Annual Academy Awards and wanted to pass it along. Her take on beauty, fashion and hair comes from the place of one who is often on set, often prepping for events, and understands what it takes to create a style that will last until dawn.

As a celebrity and editorial stylist, she was watching closely to see which leading ladies would make her "best of" list.

Rooney Mara

"Sculpted to perfection. Hands down, she had the most beautiful hair, make-up and dress of the night. Her beautifully sculpted up-do was clean, modern and chic. And I especially loved the parting of her style."

Brie Larson

"The winning lady! Her gorgeous, gleaming hair in a simple twist paired with the perfect accessories showed true red-carpet glamour."

Kerry Washington

"Classic and fun. Her wavy ponytail could not be passed up. It gave the perfect balance of whimsy to her edgy, elegant look. She looked like she was having so much fun—and that gives any gal unmatched beauty."

Dorith Mous

"A sophisticated edge. This chic, short shape with the addition of gorgeous texture gave her fresh, youthful style a modern edge."
