FASHION WEEK HOW TO: Sebastian Chic at Christian Siriano

Christian Siriano’s Fall 2014 collection is inspired by late Swedish fashion model, Lisa Fonssagrives, who the designer sees as the muse of Parisian beauty and glamour. The collection is “lady-like yet cool,” paying homage to the 60s yet maintaining a modern twist.  At Siriano's recent show during New York Fashion Week, Sebastian International Artist Anthony Cole worked with his favorite Sebastian styling products to create a full, sleek chignon.Get the Look:

STEP 1: Start by spraying Dry Clean Only around hair line, and then all over.

STEP 2: Work Mousse Forte from root to tip of hair.

STEP 3: Create part directly down the center of head and slick each side over ear using Gel Forte.

STEP 4: Gather all hair at nape of neck and secure in low ponytail.

STEP 5: Finger-tease ponytail starting with underneath layer using Shaper Hairspray.

STEP 6: Pin ponytail underneath hair elastic creating an elegant, low bun.

STEP 7: Synch and secure the bun to ensure it remains in-tact using bobby pins and Shaper Hairspray.

Anthony Cole loves this look, calling it “cool yet glamorous” and suggests the following combination of stylers to achieve:

• Dry Clean Only – Dry shampoo that enables style and transformation on-demand

• Mousse Forte – Strong hold mousse that creates strong-lasting de-frizzed waves

• Gel Forte – Pearlescent formula sculpts hair for strong hold shape without a stiff or sticky feel

• Shaper – Brushable working hairspray to create direction, lift and control with a medium hold

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
