RED CARPET UPDOS: Michael Duenas at the GLAAD Awards

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect our lives. They also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories from the LGBT community that build support for equality. The GLAAD Media Awards have been held every year since 1990.

For this year's event, held in New York City on May 2, 2014,  Schwarzkopf Professional Brand Ambassador Michael Dueñas styled two actresses from Netflix's Orange Is The New Black,  Taryn Manning and Emma Myles.

"The inspiration came from the dresses these two lovely ladies are wearing and the season. We wanted something playful, yet red carpet worthy to match their dresses and the season. Their soft texture and little braids can go a long way -- don’t forget to incorporate a headband every now and then!" said Dueñas.  He used new OSiS+ Session Label Flexible Hold Hairspray (on shelf in July 2014) to finish these elegant updos--one classic chignon and one edgy, intricate braid.
