Sherilynn Smart, a Pureology PureArtist and owner of Sherilynn Jade salon in Lafayette, CA, created a side braid that is currently being used in Pureology support materials.
GET THE LOOK
STEP 1: Prime hair with Pureology Colour Fanatic, blow dry with Pureology Anti Split Blow Dry and Pureology Cuticle Polisher to create a smooth finish.
STEP 2: Section hair off, leaving the right side out approximately 2" at hairline to back of the ear.
STEP 3: Lace hair 1" at base all over.
STEP 4: Form a Pony on right side back at hairline, flat as possible.
STEP 5: Braid the pony and secure with an elastic.
STEP 6: Release front section, pin top half away, lightly lace the bottom half at the base to create a cushion, smooth with a soft brush and wrap this section around pony thickly, covering as much of the braid as possible.
STEP 7: Break this last section into four or five sections, whatever the hair allows.
STEP 8: Using an open fastener and needle, weave hair draping a flat panel down and insert at a diagonal behind the braid to start the pattern. Consistency is key for this look.
STEP 9: Take the next panel and bring it ¾" closer to the hairline than the previous panel.
STEP 10: Continue until you run out of hair.
STEP 11: Wrap the ends around the braid where it has been wrapped by the previous section.
STEP 12: Finish with Pureology Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray
