Olivia Seymour (@vialiv), Associate Director and Hairstylist at The Hair Fetish Salon in Lake Bluff, IL, enjoyed the challenge of this "Color Project".

"Rae had A LOT of hair that was medium to coarse texture," says Seymour. "She was bleached out previously to about a level 9-10 and had Pravanna Vivids violet all over. When she got in my chair, it was uneven with sections of purple and blonde. Her goal was to be a level 3-4 warm chocolate brown. We like to call it cherry cola! Since we were going from extremely light to dark, we decided we had to fill her."

Here Seymour offers the steps:

Step 1 - Fill with Paul Mitchell The Color 6RO & 6R with 10 volume clear for about 25 minutes on damp hair. "I kept it on until I saw that the color was completely even."

Step 2 - Shampoo and dry the hair and then apply Paul Mitchell The Color 1.5 part 4n, 1 part 3g and 1 part 4rv with 3 yellow shots and 3 violet shots to add a little more oomph with 20 volume clear all over for 35 minutes.

Step 3 - After a fresh shampoo and dry, look for uneven spots. Apply a top coat of 1.5 part 4n, 1 part 3rv and a dot of 6g of Paul Mitchell’s Shines XG for 20 minutes on damp hair.

"I would like to add I couldn’t have done it without my team at The Hair Fetish," adds Seymour. "We all like to pick each others brains to come up with the best game plan to get the best result possible."
