Tip #5 of 10 in the series  - Catch-up time – Use the ability to block out time in your book to slot “catch-up” time.  Use this time to catch your breath and to keep you running on time.  Use this time to sweep, return phone calls and maintain bladder health.

You know your clients and their hair.  You know who will turn quickly and who is likely to run over their slot.  Be the guardian of your book and the keeper of your mental and physical health.  Do not allow a front desk team member to steamroll your management of your book.  The flip side of this is that a well trainer desk team member is worth their weight in Chipotle burritos.  When the team or a single team member up front has your back and knows your book they can literally make you more money and keep you sane.

If you think you cannot afford to slot catch-up time your prices are too low.  If you are too busy, you are too cheap (but that is discussion for another posting).

Your appointment book is your interface between you and the world of your clients.  Your appointment book does way more than just tell you who to cut and when to cut them.  In this 10-installment blog post series I will share my top 10 tips for managing your appointment book.  You can extract the maximum value to you and your business from this powerful resource and tool.  I welcome your comments and discussion.
