Amy McManus (@camouflageandbalayage ) of Trinity Salon in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, says "My client has been with me for 17 years. She was a vibrant ginger copper corkscrewed curly haired redhead when I met her at 16 years old. As the years have gone by she lost the vibrancy in her hair and finally decided to let me bring it back to life again."

Here McManus shares the details:

Step 1: Balayage throughout using Oligo Blacklight Balayage clay lightener and extra light blonde lightener with 40 volume developer. Process for 45 minutes at room temperature.

Step 2: Shampoo and remove moisture to "damp." Apply Paul Mitchell PM SHINES to the highlighted area only with 9R0 and 9V "to keep them bright and coppery."

Step 3: Blend a second formula of PM SHINES 6RO 9RO and BV "to richen up her hair and add back her vibrancy she lost." Apply over all the hair, from roots to ends, including the highlights. Process for 15 minutes with heat. Cool for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water and condition with Paul Mitchell The Detangler to close the cuticle.

Step 4: Apply Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil and Awapuhi Wild Ginger Mirrorsmooth Primer to the hair and dry iwith a round brush to smooth out her curls. Apply Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press thermal protecting spray and Paul Mitchell Hold Me Tight Spray to prepare her hair for thermal work.

Step 5: Style with a Hot Tools 1 1/4" curling iron.
