Hair by Kate Wessman (@katieclairedoeshair)

We love to feature Kate Wessman’s (@katieclairedoeshair) work. Not only are her clients walking out with incredible color but followers of her social posts will also receive the formulas she used to achieve these lovely finishes. She puts her work out there and provides her how-tos. Talented and willing to share, a winning combination.

Wessman works out of Cotton Salon in Lehi, Utah.

The backstory to this beautiful blonde: "Kicked the under-processed brass out of her hair and turned it into white sand beachy hair."

The process:

  1.  Full (foiled) balayage using Joico Blonde Life + Free Play with Olaplex
  2. Small, weaved subsections were left throughout for dimension.
  3. She processed under heat and we toned at the sink with Joico 10BA, 9NA, 7NV and 9B and  Fanola No Yellow Shampoo.
  4. Smudged her root with 4NA to give a super soft blend between her natural base and her blonde.

From Foiled and Damaged To Luscious Red

Maggie Mulhern | October 1, 2017

"This client had been doing full foils for years, and her hair showed it," says Tiffinie Morton (@hairbytiffinie). "We had been working on getting her hair healthier and decided to try something new. She initially wanted to go to a warm level 5 but I talked her into trying this to ease her into being darker since she had been blonde for so long." Details here.

Maggie Mulhern | September 22, 2017

"This was her first time in my chair," says Rachael Monahan (@Rachael_Monahan) of Jyl Craven Hair Design, Canton, Georgia. "She decided she needed a big change to find her herself a romance! She said 'Make it short, sexy, and all one color!' I said 'LET'S DO IT!'" Details for the makeover here.
