Vivienne Mackinder and Tracey Hughes will Headline #DestinationJoi2018

Lauren Salapatek | May 30, 2017 | 12:36 PM

“Travel broadens the mind,” so the proverb says. Indeed, when you travel to a new place and meet new people, you learn, you grow, you change. Professionals thrive on change—experimenting, learning, growing, and soaring to new professional heights.

So January 13-20, 2018 get ready to take-off with Joico and company for their Global Destination Education 2018 (#DestinationJoi2018) on the shores of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic!

Joining them will be a fantastic line-up of world-class talent from all over the globe, and at the top of this list, paragons Vivienne Mackinder and Tracey Hughes. The iconic hair stylists will be two of an amazing group of talented artists set to grace the stage at Joico’s Global Destination Education in Punta Cana.

Vivienne Mackinder:

Vivienne Mackinder, who led a team of Joico stylists from the U.S. and Canada in creating the hair looks for Malan Breton’s fashion show at NYFW Sp/Su ‘17 will be a headliner at Destination Education. As an inspiration to many hair stylists, Vivienne is no stranger to big stages nor the spotlight, having been a 7-time NAHA winner and Fashion Director for Intercoiffure Canada-America, and worked with the likes of Katie Couric, Ricky Martin, and Vivienne Westwood, to name only a few.

Tracey Hughes:

If that name wasn’t enough to draw a crowd, Joico also tapped the talents of renowned hair stylist Tracey Hughes. The highly sought-after hair stylist –who’s been a 4-time Educator of the Year, 2-time Hairdresser & Colorist of the Year, has won the Excellence in Education award 4 times, and is an Australian Masters Inductee– will definitely rouse attendees’ enthusiasm.

Those going to #DestinationJoi2018 can expect to attend classes with Tracey and Vivienne on hair styling and cutting techniques, as well as career/business-building and motivational seminars. Both artists will be sharing the news on their websites, viviennemackinder.com and traceyhughes.com.au and through their social media platforms, where fans can also look out for special opportunities, like a chance to win an exclusive experience with Vivienne while at Destination Education!

Other top artists and industry icons will include some of your favorite social media stars and celebrity artists like colorist Denis de Souza (Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Milla Kunis, Emily VanCamp, Nicole Richie, Lucy Hale) and celebrity hairstylist Paul Norton (Gina Rodriguez, Robin Wright, Brooke Shields, Adrian Brody) along with other top industry talent like the multi-award winning David Murray (4x Irish Hairdresser of the Year, 3x Best of the Best Awards, International Creative Champion), and TV-breakout star Ben Mollin (Shear Genius).

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
