Barristar Student Services President Paul Barry has kicked off his 30 day Kickstarter.com crowd-funding project with two goals in mind; To bring very needed revenue to a very talented hair prodigy stuck in the Ukraine, and to bring her special talents to salon professionals here in the U.S. He is hoping to raise the necessary $30,000 to fund production of a multi-DVD educational series.

Browsing the web, Barry discovered a unique collection of hair photos and was struck by the incredibly detailed and intricate beauty of the designs he saw. He had discovered the work of Olga Ivanitsa living and working in Ukraine, a country currently facing an uncertain future. So highly impressed with her work, he has spent the past year, and thousands of dollars trying to bring her to the U.S. to share her knowledge and teach American cosmetologists her very special skills.

He began his quest to help Ivanitsa by sponsoring her to come here to the United States. Unfortunately, the request for a visa for Ivanitsa was denied. Although that course of action has not being abandoned, Barry's next idea was to work with her long-distance to develop an educational DVD-based video series that would provide much-needed revenue to Ivanitsa and pave the way for possible future opportunities in the U.S.

Barry says, "I am very excited about this project. I have never met anyone with Olga's talent and skills, and I've seen a lot in my 40 years. Were it not for her circumstances, she would no doubt be a world-famous hair stylist … She's truly one of a kind. I want to share her knowledge with our salon world here in the U.S. Sometimes we are called for a larger mission … I really feel my years in this industry have brought me to this exact point."

Barry is reaching out to his extensive contacts in the industry to help fund this life-changing opportunity for Ivanitsa. Those interested in learning more about Ivanitsa, the video series project, and perhaps helping to make this dream a reality, you can see it all on Kickstarter.
