Maggie Mulhern | August 11, 2014 | 8:53 AM

One of the highlights of The Teen Choice Awards Blue Carpet was what stylist Riawna Capri calls “The Red Carpet Rope Braid“ which she created for Nina Dobrev.

Capri created the unique look by blowing drying Dobrev’s hair using the KMS California FREESHAPE quick blow dry to cut down on drying time leaving more time for Capri to style to the hair. Once the hair was dry, Capri used the KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling and finishing spray to prep the hair.

STEP 1: Curl dry hair with a one inch curling iron in large vertical sections.

STEP 2: Flip the hair over and and spray KMS HAIRPLAY playable Texture to create a disheveled texture.

STEP 3: Separate the hair into three sections.

STEP 4: Twist each clockwise and braid counter clockwise to showcase distinct texture.

STEP 5: Spread the braid and pulled out some loose pieces to frame the face and give an effortless look.

STEP 6: Spray with KMS California HAIRSTAY medium hold hairspray to keep the it in place.
