Lyndsay Ellis, Hair Designer/Make-up Artist at Regis Hair Salon in Findlay, OH, recently gave her natural level 4 client low-maintenance balayage highlights.

THE BEFORE:

Ellis' client had about three inches of re-growth with about 45% gray and previous color. The client wanted a look that was low maintenance (she's a mother and business owner) and lighter than her natural hair color. "I wanted to give my client dimensional hair color without it looking streaky. It was a refresh AND a brand new thing she's never done before!"

THE PROCESS:

STEP 1: Ellis used 1/2 oz 5n with a 1 1/2 oz of 504n Matrix Socolor Grey'T Naturals Permanent Cream Hair Color at the root blending down the color a bit.

STEP 2: Ellis took 30 volume Matrix Light Master and balayaged using a weaving technique (separating the hair with strips of cotton) taking diagonal partings around the face.

STEP 3: The hair was processed for 30 minutes.

STEP 4: The highlights were toned with 8n and 8bc Matrix Color Sync 10 volume.
