THE BALAYAGE JOURNEY
"I first meet Shelly in November," says balayage specialist Mallery Share (@hellobalayage) of @simplicitysalon, Port St. Lucie, Florida. "We started with red brown level 5 and she wanted my signature piece-y balayage with ash tones." For their first session, the finish "was subtle only to even out the tone to start with a guideline to Shelly's balayage journey."
Here Share offers the details for the last 2 sessions:
Session 1:
-Using Kenra Simply Blonde with 30 volume developer, apply in a balayage technique using small thin weaves leaving very little out of the weave. Place close together. The hair is sectioned into 3 quadrants. I started in the front working in horizontal sections up to her part. On each side of the sections I took small sub sections and weaved close together. Balayage the top and saturate the ends in a foil. I continue to do this up each section to her part. After the side sections I start on the back making a brick layered layout till I reached the crown.
-The hair is processed for 45 minutes.
-Tone with Matrix Color Sync 8a 8p with 10v for 20 minutes.
Session 2:
-Use the same roadmap and technique, except add a slight tease to each section and use Jack Winn lightener with 30 volume.
-Process for 45 minutes.
-Tone with Matrix equal parts 8a 10v with Uberliss Bond Treatment added for 20 minutes.
