Maggie Mulhern | August 7, 2017 | 5:27 PM

Brandi Mastrud (@whimsical_brandi) of Escape On Third Salon, Bismarck, ND, has been a hairdresser for 4.5 years and says that as a military child, "I love diversity and creativity. I'm always wanting to grow and inspire."

Here she shares the details for this refresh after a 4 month fade-out from a rainbow color:

Step 1: Apply Paul Mitchell 5VR + 10 volume to the root area.

Step 2: Melt to Joico Amethyst along the mids.

Step 3: Continue melting to Joico Red at the ends.

Step 4: Process according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse with cold water.

From Foiled and Damaged To Luscious Red

Maggie Mulhern | October 1, 2017

"This client had been doing full foils for years, and her hair showed it," says Tiffinie Morton (@hairbytiffinie). "We had been working on getting her hair healthier and decided to try something new. She initially wanted to go to a warm level 5 but I talked her into trying this to ease her into being darker since she had been blonde for so long." Details here.
