Heading into the cooler months, Healthy Hairdresser reminds you to get your flu shot! But if you do get the flu, check out this list of 10 foods that Walgreens suggests can help you through the worst of it:

Ginger—shown to fight inflammation, curb nausea and relieve stomach aches.
Garlic—adds flavor while possibly helping to relieve congestion.
Oatmeal—fills you up while strengthening your body’s immune system.
Hot tea—the steam soothes a sore throat and clears out mucus.
Honey—can help suppress a cough.
Bananas—a bland food, like rice, to calm an upset stomach.
100% vegetable juice—low in sodium and high in antioxidants.
Unsweetened applesauce—another bland food, with and natural sweetness to make a good snack.
Oranges—rich in vitamin C and flavonoids, which have lots of antioxidants.
Chicken soup—provides liquid nourishment and lives up to its reputation of fighting flu symptoms.
