Sarah Hager (@styles__bysarah) of POSH Color Studio in Easton, Pennsylvania, specializes in balayage and blonde transformations.

"The photo on the left was the first session with my client," says Hager. "She came in with very damaged, porous and multiple colors in her hair. We agreed her hair was already too compromised to use lightener so we used her first session to fill and condition.

For that first session, Hager used Paul Mitchell PM Shines 6RB with 5 volume on the mid shaft to ends to fill and cancel out the green tone. "We finished with a Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Treatment. She left very happy and excited for the next session of our color correction journey."

Fast forward to the middle photo. "My client let her hair have a little rest after the previous session and was ready for a hair painting session. I could still see a band of stubborn red throughout the mids of her hair."

MOST RECENT SESSION:

Step 1: Balayage using a Framar brush, Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose Lightener with 20 volume and Matrix Bond Ultim8 for added protection during the process. Process for 30 minutes. Rinse.

Step 2: Tone midshaft to ends with Pravana Chromasilk levels 10 & 10.1 with zero lift. Process for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Shadow root with Pravana 6.22 and zero lift. Process 10 minutes. Rinse.

Step 4: Apply second part of bond treatment. Process 10 minutes.
