After working as a hairstylist for more than 13 years, DJ Victory (@djvictorystyle) decided she wanted to explore a new venture. After attending a makeup class in Chicago with celebrity makeup artist Hrush, DJ started to hone her makeup skills. This led her to the idea of creating her own line of makeup brushes, which quickly snow-balled into more products such as liquid lipstick, lip liner, and eyelashes.
Together, the products created DJ's makeup line, Macy & Mia. In June, Macy & Mia will launch its new collaboration with wrestling star Ashley Sebera. The five-piece collection, called Playtime is Over, features a highlighter palette, lip glosses, a mascara and eyelashes.
"Knowing Ashley for over 10 years, I knew in my heart this partnership was a perfect fit," DJ says. "When we sat down to create the products, colors and names in the collection, we immediately thought of the word 'Strong.' Having been through many obstacles in our lives, we wanted to really show the determination she and I both have and how much stronger we are today. We hope this collection helps to inspire others to keep reaching for their goals."
The products include:
Determined to Glow Highlighter Palette: Six cream-based shades that can easily be applied with a sponge or finger. These multiuse highlighters are cruelty-free and contain no glitter.
Dana Lip Gloss: This hot pink shimmer lip gloss is perfect for wearing alone or as a top coat.
DJ Lip Gloss: This shimmery champagne-nude is great for summer. It can also be worn alone or as a top coat.
Mascara: This black waterproof mascara is designed to lengthen and separate lashes for a lush appearance. It's safe for sensitive eyes and is cruelty-free.
Eyes on the Prize 3-D Lashes: Add volume and length with these flexible, lightweight and reusable vegan lashes.
