SECTIONING

  • Create a horseshoe–shaped section using the corner of the eyes as a reference point and extend to just below the crown.
  • From the crown, make a vertical part down to the nape to divide the hair right and left.
  • At the nape make a horizontal part from the center of the head to the back of the ear. Repeat on the other side. Secure the hair below the nape.

APPLICATION

STEP 1

  • Start in the back left nape section and take a ¼-inch diagonal back slice and place on a foil. Formula 1 to Zone 1 and into Zone 2.
  • Next, leaving 1 inch of natural hair, apply Formula 2 to Zone 2, and apply Formula 3 to Zone 3.
  • With the Redken Blur Brush, use vertical strokes to blur Formula 2 and Formula 3 together. Drop down the next ¼" slice and place on previous section and repeat application. Cover the last section with foil to secure. Repeat on opposite side.
  • Complete all back sections in the same manner.

STEP 2

  • Start in the front left temple section and take a ¼-inch diagonal back slice and place on a foil. Apply Formula 1 to Zone 1 and into Zone 2.
  • Next, leaving 1 inch of natural hair, apply Formula 2 through remainder of Zones 2 and 3, leaving out the previously colored ends.
  • Using the Redken Blur Brush, use vertical strokes to blur both formulas together. Drop down next ¼" slice and place on previous section and repeat application. Complete section and cover with foil to secure. Complete opposite side and both front crown sections using the same technique.
  • Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Cleanse and condition with Color Extend Magnetics.
