Nicole Koshak (@nicole.koshak), a stylist @shannonhairsalon in Valencia, California, got a new assistant that needed a new look after doing her hair in beauty school with friends. She was already light so Koshak needed to go in with low developers to get the warmth out while maintaining the health of her hair. The entire process took six hours.

Step 1: Apply a full foilayage alternating between babylights and balayage (all in fine sections.) Start with Wella Blondor and 10 volume (with Wellaplex added) for the root. Drop to 6 volume for the midshaft and ends. Use the same sectioning for the front hairline for the hero highlight along the face frame.

Step 2 : Lowlight between the foils using Redken Shades EQ 7N to take away the warmth. The lowlights should be placed below the crown to maintain the brightness from the top of the head.

Step 3: Paint the ends with Wella Blondor 6 volume and Wellaplex for a pop of light. Place these lights throughout. Rinse each section when fully processed.

Step 4: Apply Olaplex number 2 for 10 minutes. Shampoo and towel dry. Tone with ½  7P & 1/2 9P Redken Shades EQ, from roots to ends . Process for six minutes and then rinse.
