Dotty Hurtado (@hairbydotty), the co-owner of Prismatic Hair Studio in San Antonio and a balayage and foilyage specialist, caught our eye with her gorgeous, seamless blonde blends. She is a master colorist and we asked her to share some of her must-do steps to achieve her lovely lifts and tones:
- Take thin sections for your highlights and always foil as close to the root as possible.
- Always make sure you are applying the proper amount of lightener. Switching developers when doing a lot of blonding is essential.
- Knowing the difference between a babylight/traditional highlight/slice etc. will help you to create such a natural, customizable blonde.
- When creating a natural “lived in” blonde always try to choose your root shadow 1-2 levels on their natural hair color.
