Only about 2% of the global population is sporting red hair. This extremely rare hair color is the result of both parents carrying a recessive gene but even with that lucky pairing, only about 25% of resulting offspring will present with red hair. So what nature doesn't provide, a lovely hair color service certainly will, as seen in this glowing copper from Z Studio @zstudiotulsa in Tulsa, OK.

RED HEADED FACTOID:
According to www.medicaldaily.com, "redheads may be harder to sedate than blondes or brunettes, and require more anesthesia during surgery. In a 2004 study, redhead patients required 20 to 30 percent more anesthetic than other women to reach the same level of sedation. The same experiment was also replicated with mice, which found animals with a MC1R mutation also required more sedation. Researchers suspect because the gene belongs to the family group of genes that play a role in pain, the mutation causes redheads to be more sensitive to it. The genetic mutation could affect the activity of endorphins, known as the body's natural painkillers, which may lead to an increase in pain."
