Curtain bangs are trending like crazy right now, and we can't get enough of the look! A little bit retro, a lotta bit cute, and all sorts of styling versatility--what's not to love?

"This is definitely a trend that is here to stay because it's such a happy medium," says educator and MODERN SALON Artist Connective member Renee Plante. "It's not the full commitment of traditional forehead bangs and they add softness to the face."

The whispy, perfectly imperfect style is great for long lengths, short looks, ponytails and everything in between.

In this cutting tutorial, @colourmesue, a stylist and colorist based in Amsterdam, showcases her favorite technique in cutting the look.

Pay attention the initial length removal and ensure you don't go too short--remember, you can always cut more length off! She twists the triangle section to ensure longer lengths.

Watch how she then adds a piece-y effect by notching and removing additional length and weight in the center where the fringe will naturally part.

Lastly, she does additional length removal on an angle, parting the fringe in the center.
