For many years, Pete Goupil had been following the artists behind the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) and the beautiful work that comes out of the competition. 2019 marked Goupil’s first nomination—and win—for the awards, being honored Men’s Hairstylist of the Year. Best advice you’ve received: Love what you do and you will never work a day of your life. 

Something that would surprise people about you: I am an avid fisherman and hunter

What is a tip or trick you think more young stylists should know?: Understanding of shape in a haircut will simplify the craft for you.

I am a barber because: For me men’s hair is all about technique and tiny details—I love that!

My goal as a professional: Become an artistic or creative director

What do you consider your greatest achievement?:  My baby girl Esther. I’m also pretty proud of my NAHA 2019 Men’s Hairstylist of the Year win.
