Fifteen Alaskan salons came together for Unified Beauty's Wigs and Wine event in Fairbanks May 4. The interactive event raised $40,000 to be used to fund salon participation in the Wigs & Wishes program in Alaska, which is dedicated to providing wigs and granting wishes to individuals battling cancer.

The $40,000 represents 135% more than the event raised in 2018.

“Our goal is to grow the Wigs & Wishes program in Alaska and offer wigs to people all over the state,” says Scott Allison, owner of S Salon and organizer of this year’s event.

The activities kicked off with two days of education hosted by S Salon. During the evening event, guests admired the work created by local hair artists as they watched them create stage-ready looks, capturing and sharing photos on social media. Education continued into the next day with a Breakfast & Business session.

"Wigs & Wine is such an incredible event that helps inspire others to continue their education while giving back to an amazing cause," says Scott Guinter, General Manager, Kao USA Salon Division. "We are beyond thrilled to be a part of this initiative and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the future."
