FASHION WEEK: Kati Stern and Philip Pelusi..The Partnership

Maggie Mulhern | February 11, 2013 | 7:55 AM

It is rare that editors get an opportunity to meet both the fashion designer and hair lead with enough time to actually have a chat. Well...somehow that happened this weekend when we arrived way too early at the Mercedes Benz tents for the Venexiana fall/winter 2013 collection

It was three hours before show time. Kati Stern, Venexiana's designer, was just floating around chatting to friends and family. Philip Pelusi, lead hair, was prepping his space and his Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi team. Why not ask them to share how this relationship works?

Why? "Because I love him!" says Kati.  "He understands. I come up with this dream and he makes it come true. I do a lot of research. I have an idea in my head, and it becomes a reality with Philip."

Adds Philip: "Kati is the creative force. It's her line, her passion and her vision. It's a great collaboration...and she does allow for some creative interpretation."

In this two minute interview we get to meet both designers and hear it from their lips!

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
