Note From the Editor: Embracing Change
I recently cut off quite a bit of length—I had to. My hair was so unhealthy from over-processing and thermal damage that if a gust of wind blew I was worried my ends would snap off. It was time to let this dandelion puff mane go—six inches of it.
It was a hard decision—I’m very attached to my length—but unhealthy, jagged ends don’t look good on anyone.
Although my number-one goal was a return to healthier hair, the change left me feeling uneasy. I longed for my length but I wasn’t ready to go back to being a brunette. We had just finished shooting the collection you see
on our cover by Hairtalk artist Victoria Casciola, so extensions were top of mind. And although I’m not the traditional extensions client, I wanted to see what was possible. So I called upon Hairtalk Master Educator
Alicia Iannone to transform my lob into a healthy, bright beige-y blonde.
