FRIZZ-BUSTING: Smoothing Texture-Refine Masque A color-safe, take-home treatment, Smoothing Texture-Refine Masque targets hair prone to frizz because of its texture combined with environmental factors. The masque’s silk protein forms a mesh on hair to smooth the cuticle and moisturize. The client leaves the masque on for five to 10 minutes as the shower’s heat helps the formula to penetrate the hair.

You may have noticed you’re carrying more types of conditioners than ever. No longer do clients simply cleanse, condition, rinse. Their routine has grown more complex and individualized as they switch up the order of application or layer several conditioners before styling. Some conditioners now serve as a two-in-one replacement for a cleanser; others are not meant to be rinsed out. The foundation of a conditioning product, which at one time was taken for granted to be a cream, today can be an oil, mist or aerosol.

Moisturizing Trends

Among the conditioners that CosmoProf offers this season are many that specifically address the concerns of clients with textured hair:

*Coarse hair that’s had a color service benefits from Wella’s Brilliance Conditioner for Coarse, Colored Hair, which deeply hydrates and nourishes the hair to leave it smooth, soft and shiny.

*Bain De Terre’s Keratin Phyto-Protein Strengthening Conditioner rescues hair exposed to harsh environments by strengthening the hair, repairing damage, restoring luster and guarding against future breakage.

*Safe for keratin-treated hair and versatile enough to use daily or weekly, Aquage’s Sea Extend Silkening Power Infusion works in 60 seconds to repair and silken color-treated hair for a natural feel.

*Texture improves instantly with Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment, recommended as a weekly, deep, hydrating conditioner to repair and protect vulnerable hair.

*An intensive leave-in treatment for dry and damaged hair, Goldwell’s Dualsenses Rich Repair Regeneration Serum regenerates hair intensively in just seconds.

*For frequent use, AG’s Keratin Repair Restore Daily Strengthening Conditioner uses keratin amino acids to bond, repair, smooth and protect the hair while adding strength, elasticity, moisture
