It was exactly one-week ago that I started beauty school at Pivot Point, and exactly one-week ago that I met Jackie O. She is a beautiful woman with long lashes and big, beautiful eyes. And now, world, I introduce her to you. Meet Jackie O.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to go to beauty school. My first experience cutting hair, aside from my Barbies’ heads, was on my little sister Megan. Her hair was getting a little long, I thought she could use a bang trim. The problem was, I was seven years old, and she was four. I used kitchen shears, and then proceeded to let her cut my hair afterward.
Students from the three Illinois locations of Pennsylvania-based Empire Beauty Schools gathered at the flagship school in Lisle, Illinois, for a day of training in combating domestic abuse. Empire has partnered with National Cosmetology Association’s Cut it Out program to teach salon professionals to recognize the signs of abuse.
Whenever I interview famous hairdressers, or really successful and talented people in the industry, I always ask them what their biggest challenge was while in beauty school.
