Yesterday was beautiful. I woke up to the sounds of Paris coming through my hotel window, along with some of the nicest weather I could have hoped for. I blogged, ate some deli meats and cheese for breakfast, and thought about how I could, very much, get used to this!
Last night's Welcome Reception for North American visitors to Goldwell's Color Zoom event in Paris was phenomenal. Really, beyond all expectations, stunning. The venue chosen for the get-together party was Pavillion Ledoyen at Champs-Lysee Garden--it was beautiful and quintessentially French.
The countdown to Paris has finally reached just a few hours until departure... and I couldn't be more excited! All year, colorists across the globe have been working on their color competence to show Goldwell their ability to put their signature on the Just Naked trend in a highly creative way.
I attended Color America 2010 in Oak Brook, IL on Monday, and if you were there you were in for some color excitement! Master of Ceremonies, Patrick McIvor along with educators like James Edick, John C. Simpson, Chrystofer Benson and Kelly Cardenas were at the event teaching colorists from all over their top coloring techniques. Check out some of the techniques they taught and of course, photos!
As a member of the trade press, I occasionally get asked to judge
industry competitions. I always love doing this as it gives me an
opportunity to see stylists’ very best work. Recently, I had the honor of being one of the judges for Goldwell’s prestigious Color Zoom competition.

Lately, there's been a lot of talk about giving back. Whether you're
giving back to the community, giving back to your peers, or giving back
to the industry—whatever you can do to make a difference in the lives
of others is so important.
