"This client came in with very brassy, yellow and orange tones throughout her hair," says Austin Senior (@Austin_sullosalon) of Sullo Salon and Day Spa, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "She was all levels 8 and 9 with about 5 inches of her natural level 7 regrowth. Her goal was a very cool platinum blonde with no silver and a shadow root slightly darker/cooler than her natural level."
Here Senior shares the details for this makeover:
Step 1: Section the hair into quadrants from the mohawk section along the top. Start in the back using Goldwell Silk Lift Strong lightener with 10 volume. Take thin slices and backcomb the roots 3-4 times. Generously apply the lightener leaving about 2 inches of root. Foil every other section using this method increasing developer to 20 volume on the sides and 30 volume on the top. Process for 20 minutes under medium heat and rinse.
Step 2: For shadow, apply Wella Color Touch 6/0 and 7/89 equal parts with 6vol CT developer to about 2 inches of her root. For the ends apply Wella Color Touch 10/81 with 6vol CT developer. Process for 15 minutes and rinse with cold water to prevent the root formula from bleeding onto her ends.
Step 3: Blow dry and finish with a 1 1/2 inch curling wand and a little Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-powder for texture.
