MODERN SALON Media sent a team of six editors—Maggie Mulhern, Stacey Soble, Alison Shipley, Lauren Salapatek, Jan Hillenmeyer and myself—to PBA Beauty Week this past weekend, plus a camera crew and photographer to interview industry icons and cover major events. We covered Cosmoprof and events like NAHA, Beacon and City of Hope for MODERN SALON, SALON TODAY, FIRST CHAIR, modernsalon.com, Modern Salon TV, posting stories that span the lifecycle and lifestyle of beauty professionals.
Eli Mancha received top honors at the North American Hairstyling Awards at PBA Beauty Week in Las Vegas.
Mancha is the artistic director for the Lock & Loaded design team and owner of Bang! salon in Chicago. He and his team, along with winners in 12 other NAHA categories, were celebrated at the annual “Academy Awards of hair”-inspired gala. See the complete list of NAHA winners.
TEAM MODERN is heading to Las Vegas in full force to cover PBA Beauty Week. Our editors will be blogging live and reporting on every event at this annual “industry-wide reunion.” From the Get-Together Party to City of Hope to Symposium, Beacon, NAHA and, of course, the Cosmoprof North America show itself. Watch for continuous coverage on modernsalon.com and MODERN’s Facebook page. We’ll also dedicate our Sunday e-letter to product highlights and trends from the show, and Monday to reporting on the North American Hairstyling Awards gala presentation. If you are going to be at Beauty Week, look for our MODERN SALON TV crew, editors and sales team, or visit our booth at D-1099.
I recently spoke with Michael O’Rourke who is receiving the NAHA Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s NAHA awards ceremony in Las Vegas July 31 during Cosmoprof/PBA Beauty Week. Speaking to Michael is always an inspiration because the passion he has for the industry is genuine and infectious. If you have seen him on the show floor or on the stage, you know what I mean.
