This year marks an impressive milestone for Malibu C, the trailblazing brand created by Tom Porter that transformed the professional beauty industry with a single, powerful ingredient: ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C. In honor of 40 years of innovation, dedication, and clean wellness beauty, Malibu C hosted a spectacular anniversary party—bringing together current and former employees, distributors, salon partners, and key figures who have shaped its remarkable journey.
Held at the brand’s headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, the event was more than just a celebration—it was a heartfelt reunion and tribute to a company that has always put people, planet, and performance at the forefront. Guests included not only those currently powering Malibu C's success, but also current and past partners, several former team members and longtime supporters who have helped grow the brand from a visionary concept into a global professional favorite. There were even people viewing via zoom from around the world!
A Brand That Changed the Game
Malibu C’s legacy began in 1985 with a groundbreaking idea: using freshly activated, food-grade vitamin C topically to combat the damaging effects of environmental stressors and hard water minerals. Long before “clean beauty” became a movement, Malibu C was pioneering sulfate-free, preservative-free wellness solutions for hair, scalp, and skin—without compromise.
Malibu C was the first to recognize the power of antioxidant vitamin C in topical applications. What began as a vision for wellness-based beauty has evolved into a full line of salon-quality products trusted by professionals around the world.
Their vitamin C technology remains at the heart of hero products like the original Malibu C Crystal Gel in-salon service, empowering stylists to create a clean canvas for color and texture services. And with a firm commitment to cruelty-free, vegan, and eco-conscious formulations, Malibu C has stayed ahead of the curve while staying true to its roots.
The Celebration
The 40th anniversary party captured the spirit of Malibu C: fun, fresh, and full of gratitude. Guests enjoyed a festive atmosphere with amazing food, a make-your-own lotion bar, photo booth, and several speakers who expressed their heartfelt tributes to the brand and its founders. Memorabilia from four decades of Malibu C innovation adorned the venue, reminding attendees just how far the company has come—and how much more lies ahead.
Looking Forward
As the brand looks ahead to the next chapter, Malibu C remains focused on innovation with purpose. With continued expansion into professional and consumer markets, new product innovations on the horizon, and a commitment to education and community, the brand shows no signs of slowing down.
