She’s the bad cop. He’s the good cop. Together, Mizani Artists Jamal Edmonds and Evie Johnson blended their unique styles to collaborate on a collection that led them both to 2018 NAHA nominations. Edmonds is a finalist in the 2018 Texture category. Johnson was nominated in the Color and Cutting categories.

The most important part of creating a winning collection?  “It’s all about the vibe,” declares Johnson. “We chose the team that created our collections based on attitude. How they get along with others. How they would behave on set. How we would work together as a team.” Agrees Edmonds, “It’s all about vibe and tribe!”

As a Mizani educator, Edmonds teaches specialized advanced theory classes, as well as a series of specially curated classes on business, hair extensions, and texture. He appears at trade shows on behalf of the company, and also offers special product presentations for Mizani distributors and salon professionals. His latest Mizani collaboration is Lamaj—the first Mizani flagship salon in New York City.

Mizani Educator Johnson is also an International Association of Trichologists Certified Trichologist and a member of the Board of Directors. She is the founder of Evie Johnson's Hair Solutions and a co-founder of STUART EDMONDSON Hair Loss and Restoration, providing customized solutions for men and women challenged with hair loss.
