At Kevin.Murphy's Future.Love event in Las Vegas on Sunday, September 16, Kevin Murphy announced that his namesake brand will rework its bottles to be made exclusively from 100% recycled ocean plastics.

Murphy sited that the company will be the first ever beauty brand to implement this practice, which is projected to save the planet over 360 tons of new plastic each year. The recycled bottles will begin debuting globally in salons in mid-2019.

This campaign is intended to start an industry-wide conversation about the heart of the issue: safe packaging disposal. With this launch, the brand aims to change the industry standard, and will transparently share its eco-friendly processes so other brands or persons interested can take a stand alongside them.

“This change is for the future of our environment and for us to be truly sustainable – to clean up our oceans for the sake of our planet and for future generations,” Murphy said.

Kevin.Murphy was built utilizing organic growing practices, micro cultivation, and ecologically-sound wild harvesting techniques to ensure the very highest natural quality product.

Future.Love welcomed thousands of stylists to the Aria Resort and Casino for education and inspiration. The two-day event opened with a spectacular stage presentation with Murphy and his International Show Team, where the brand's 2018 collection was brought to life with gorgeous hair that complemented equally gorgeous fashions. Artists demonstrated their techniques and discussed their visions.

Day two featured break-out sessions covering a range of topics. Guests were invited to take a personalized learning journey choose from 11 classes taught by the global artistic team and Murphy himself.

The next event will take place in 2020.
